At Global Centre for FinTech Innovations, our tactics to enable FinTech Innovation are anchored on an evidence-based approach. Therefore, we have significant investment in FinTech research to facilitate experimentation, undertake a variety of research into FinTech Innovations, and produce high-quality publications highlighting FinTech Innovations worldwide.
Our Key Areas
- Stimulation of Fintech operation by supporting existing companies to expand their geographical reach, especially by providing them with an opportunity map.
- Policy advocacy: sustained advocacy on ensuring effective implementation of relevant policies while advocating for new ones especially in the area of inclusive digital payments ecosystem geared towards enabling increased availability of financial services to underbanked and unbanked Population
- Research: Although there is some research about FinTech Innovations, most of them are academic type research. Our contribution is to do more industry-lead type research, focusing on understanding key issues confronting the ability of Fintech actors to tackle some important problems through innovations. By using an action research approach, we provide long-lasting evidence to enable FinTech Innovations which are targeted to pressing needs.
- Research on the status of policy implementation, primarily developing and validating policy performance indicators backed by evidence. This research will also look at policy gaps and implementation bottlenecks in selected markets.
- Experimentation: Research and Development in the enhancing of emerging technologies such as AI, blockchain which facilitate Fintech innovation. Beyond Digital Payments. We are working to ensure an integrated FinTech Ecosystem covering all aspects of Fintech Innovations We have the capacity to research into relevant digital payment tools such as Point of Sales (POS) devices. our goal is research into plausible payment solutions which allows for network effects thereby delivering a robust, low-cost digital financial infrastructure that serves the financial needs of the financially excluded.
